Hi neighbors!

I’m a local mom and children’s book author in St Charles. The past few weeks, I have been out in the community at various holiday market events, offering a special two-book price. In telling folks about our family story and what prompted me to develop the books, I received a TON of support and kind words (even some tears). Click here to read more about our story.

I decided this week I wanted to continue this offer through Christmas JUST FOR YOU.. residents of St Charles, Batavia, Geneva, Campton Hills and Elgin.

Get both books for just $25 purchased through December 23. Use code LOCAL at checkout.

“Ben’s Adventures: A Day at the Beach" first released May 2018. It’s my debut picture book about a boy in a wheelchair who dreams up fun adventures from everyday situations. It’s inspired by my son Benjamin who had cerebral palsy and passed away in 2016.

The Ben’s Adventures books are a tribute to my Ben but also show that ALL children are capable of play and dreams. It has subtle themes of inclusion and friendship, and will help all children to understand and accept all types of abilities.

A Day at the Beach has been honored with several awards including the Gold Medal in K-3rd grade Children’s Fiction. Click here to learn more.

I became a mom to triplets in 2012. We initially lived in Chicago but moved to St Charles in April 2013 when the babies were 10 months old. Our son Benjamin was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy when he wasn’t meeting his milestones. He ultimately also developed epilepsy, required a feeding tube and was nonverbal. I’ve always only done what any mom would do … the very best for her children. When Benjamin passed away in 2016, it was unclear what my purpose now should be. We ultimately established Ben Smiles (www.BenSmiles.org) and created Ben’s Adventures, my way of honoring him and sharing him with others. I’m hoping to spread smiles to other families in his name.
